AboutEucalyptus et Mimosa
An eco-friendly florist in Matha
In the downtown area of the charming little town of Matha in Charente-Maritime lies a little green gem: the Eucalyptus et Mimosa shop! Behind the counter, you’ll find Amélie, who, after traveling extensively throughout Australia—where she had the opportunity to work in nurseries—returned to France to train as a florist. She graduated at the top of her class in Poitiers with a technical vocational diploma and opened her shop in 2020.
On a day-to-day basis, she’s assisted by her mother and Céline, who is also a florist. This dynamic duo is waiting for you in the shop to bring even the wildest bouquets to life, no matter the season or occasion.
A boutique featuring handmade and eco-friendly products
The first thing that strikes you when you walk into Eucalyptus and Mimosa is, of course, the abundance of plants, which give the store a very natural atmosphere. Because nature is a top priority at Eucalyptus and Mimosa: that’s why the store is particularly mindful of its waste production and water consumption. Local crafts are also highlighted, and you’ll find many handmade accessories in the store.
When it comes to style, Amélie has boundless creativity and will design custom bouquets just for you. She particularly enjoys floral arrangements that think outside the box: so no classics here, but rather inspired, rustic, and airy compositions.
Care Tips for Eucalyptus and Mimosa Flowers
To make your flowers last longer, Amélie has a few simple tips to follow. First of all, make sure the water is always clean—flowers are very sensitive to this! So change the water in the vase about every two days. Here’s an extra tip: while you’re at it, trim the stems with a knife or pruning shears—this will help your flowers absorb nutrients more easily and keep them blooming longer.
